Any magazine that describes itself as being for the "upscale lifestyle, including travel, dining, wealth management, luxury automobiles, mountain and beach life, and fashion" must have a huge target painted on its back.
When Atlanta Peach folded, this could not be far behind.
You know you are screwed when you can't exist as a magazine for affluent people and you can't exist when poor people can't buy you either.
And it's only the beginning for "more money than brains" regional magazines. I have bets on "D" magazine in Dallas being a major casualty: the publisher put out its annual "The Best 1,049 Doctors Willing To Pay for Full-Page Ads In Order To Be Listed" issue in October, and seemingly every grocery store in the Dallas area STILL has copies on the checkout stands. Worse, I've seen several "SPECIAL" cardboard display racks set up full of those issues next to self-service checkouts, and considering what most grocery chains charge for those sweet promotional spots, someone's gotta be throwing away some serious money in the desperate hope of selling a few more copies.

Atlanta Peach is gone? I thought Larry Flynt took it over and changed the focus to something a bit more adult?
