Now they are really dead. Really really.
Back in June and even back in 2007, we had them marked for dead because what does a public company that specializes in urban radio know about the quickly-sinking world of magazines? If the magazine publishers can barely keep their heads above water, what magical secret would these Radio One people know?
This giant has finally fallen.
What? You mean you can't take a white bread mag & turn it gangsta? Who knew?
This magazine died years ago.

Never saw it on a Manhattan newsstand, never saw a link to it on any website, never even heard of it...
Did it really even exist?
Not to me...

It did have national distribution but mainly in Urban areas served by urban market distributors ..not to say Manhattan is not "urban" but just as in the radio business there are "distribution and promotional" costs and the distributors in that area play hard ball.

Check radio ratings in New York and Philadelphia. Those for hardcore hiphop stations- downdowndown. Those that program for middle class female supervisors- Kiss 98, WDAS FM- still upupup. The Reaper moonlights.
