According to NY Post reporter Keith Kelly's column today, the new direct mail piece to solicit subscriptions "plays up launch editor Joanne Lipman's past, with the announcment, 'New from Joanne Lipman, formerly of the Wall Street Journal.'"
Joanne who cares?
This is a similar technique that Hollywood uses to boost up their partners' egos when they proclaim in ads "From the Director of YOU, ME AND DUPREE!" or "From the Producers of STARSKY AND HUTCH!"
The American public couldn't care one whit about those people and the Reaper doubts it would matter in the slightest to anybody who received the Portfolio direct mail.
